How to choose
Match the exact model. Covers, spacers and gaskets are sized to specific readers. An R40 part won't fit an RK40. Check the part number on the reader's label.
Spacers. A spacer lifts the reader off the wall. That makes room for wiring and conduit, and it helps on metal surfaces, which can reduce read range.
Outdoor installs. Gaskets and hoods keep rain out of readers on exposed walls or gate posts.
Power. Check the reader's voltage and current draw in its install guide. Long-range readers draw much more than a door reader. Plug-in supplies suit single devices. Larger sites usually use the panel's power or a dedicated supply.
See door readers explained for reader types, and gate access control for long-range installs.
FAQ
Does the BLE/OSDP kit include mobile licenses?
No. It adds the hardware only. Mobile IDs need licenses from HID Mobile.
Can I power a reader from the access panel?
Often, yes, if the panel's reader port supplies enough current. A separate supply is common for long-range readers.
Do you do repairs?
No. We sell parts. Your installer can fit them.
