Collection: 26-Bit H10301 Prox Cards & Key Fobs

H10301 is the standard 26-bit Wiegand format. It is the most common card format in North American access control, and it is the format most HID 125 kHz prox systems were set up with. Every card on this page is encoded in H10301, so it will read on a standard HID prox reader and pass a 26-bit number to your panel.

What 26-bit H10301 means

The 26 bits break down into 1 parity bit, an 8-bit facility code (0 to 255), a 16-bit card number (0 to 65,535) and a closing parity bit. Because there are only 256 facility codes, two buildings across town can hold identical cards. That is fine for most small and mid-size sites. Larger sites often move to a proprietary format such as Corporate 1000 for that reason.

Pick the card body

  • Clamshell: Identiv 4001, a thick card built to the same spec as the HID 1326 ProxCard II. Not printable, but it lasts.
  • ISO PVC: Identiv 4011 and Hirsch Identiv 4010S (HID 1386 compatible). Thin and printable in a direct-to-card printer.
  • Composite: Identiv 4021, compared to the HID 1586. Better for retransfer and laminating printers.
  • With mag stripe: Identiv 4031, for sites that also swipe cards.
  • Key fob: Identiv 4082, compatible with the HID 1346 ProxKey III.
  • Smart card: HID iCLASS SE 3000 in H10301. This is 13.56 MHz, not prox, so it needs an iCLASS SE or multiCLASS SE reader.

When you order, send us your facility code and the starting card number. Pick a range you have not issued yet so you do not end up with duplicates in your software.

FAQ

Will these cards work with my HID reader?

Yes, if your reader reads HID 125 kHz prox and your panel accepts 26-bit. That covers ProxPoint Plus, MiniProx, ProxPro and multiCLASS readers with prox turned on. The iCLASS SE 3000 card needs a 13.56 MHz iCLASS SE reader instead.

How do I find my facility code?

Your access control software shows it on the cardholder record, or in the event log when a card is presented. Some cards also have it printed on the back next to the card number.

Are Identiv cards as good as HID cards?

Identiv (Hirsch) makes these cards to read on HID prox readers using the same format. Many sites mix them with existing HID cards. If your system uses a format other than H10301, you need a card made for that format.
