Collection: Combo Cards: Prox + Smart Card & UHF

A combo card holds two or three technologies in one card body. The usual reason to buy one is a migration. You can hand out a single card that opens doors with your old 125 kHz prox readers today and your new smart card readers later. The other reason is a site that runs two systems, such as a UHF gate reader and a prox door reader.

Prox + smart card

  • iCLASS + Prox: HID 2120, 2121, 2122, 2123 and 2124 composite cards, in 2k to 32k memory.
  • iCLASS SE + Prox: HID 3150 composite card.
  • Seos + Prox: HID 5105, 5106 and 551 Seos Essential + Prox.
  • Seos + iCLASS + Prox: HID 52060, 52063 and 52064 ISO PVC cards.
  • MIFARE + Prox: HID 1431 (1K) and 1441 (4K), and the Identiv 4310 MIFARE Classic 1K + 125 kHz card.

Smart card + smart card

HID 2320 and 2420 series cards pair iCLASS with MIFARE, so one card covers access control and a MIFARE application such as vending or cashless payment.

UHF + door card

Nedap uPASS combi cards add a UHF tag for hands-free gate reads to HID Prox, HID iCLASS 2K, MIFARE 1K or MIFARE DESFire 4K. HID 6013 and 6014 cards pair SIO-enabled UHF with iCLASS 32k for use with the iCLASS SE U90 reader.

How to order

Each technology on the card has its own number. Tell us the format and facility code for each one. Often the prox side is set to match your existing cards, and the smart side is set to the format your new system uses.

FAQ

Will a combo card work on my old prox reader?

Yes, if it includes 125 kHz prox programmed in your current format. The reader ignores the 13.56 MHz side.

Can the prox and smart numbers be the same?

They can usually be programmed to match, which makes enrollment simpler. Ask when you order, since it depends on the formats.

Are combo cards printable?

Most cards here are composite or PVC ISO cards and print in a standard ID card printer. Composite cards are best for retransfer printers.
