Collection: Fargo Ribbons, HDP Film & Overlaminates

Fargo makes two kinds of card printers. DTC (direct-to-card) printers print straight onto the card with a ribbon. HDP printers print onto a clear film, then bond the film to the card. HDP printers need both a ribbon and a film. Use the list below to match parts to your printer model.

PolyGuard patches (82600 and 82601 clear, 82603 and 82604 holographic) add a tough layer over the print on printers fitted with a lamination module, such as the DTC4500, DTC1500, HDP5000 and HDP8500. Use 1.0 mil for cards that see hard daily use.

FAQ

What do the extra letters mean, like F, H or I?

F is a fluorescent panel that shows under UV light. H is a heat-seal panel and I is an inhibitor panel, used on cards with chips or mag stripes. K is black resin and O is a clear overlay.

Do I need film for my DTC printer?

No. Only HDP printers use film. DTC printers need a ribbon and, if they have a laminator, overlaminate.

Why does my Fargo reject a ribbon?

Current Fargo ribbons are coded for their printer family, so a ribbon made for a different model will not be accepted. Match the part number to your printer before you order.
