It splits or shares a Wiegand signal so you can run two readers into one panel input, or feed one reader into two separate panels. It also isolates the data lines between devices, which helps when two pieces of equipment do not agree on voltage or ground.

Key features

Connect two readers to a single Wiegand port

Or connect one reader to two access control panels

Optical isolation of the data signals between devices

Bridges Wiegand devices that use different data voltages

Helps with ground potential differences between devices

Runs on 5 or 12 VDC, so it can share the reader's power and needs no separate supply

Specs

Manufacturer: Cypress

Part number: OPTW-100

Interface: Wiegand

Power: 5 or 12 VDC

Before you order

Confirm your readers and panel talk Wiegand, not OSDP or RS-485, since this board handles Wiegand only. Check the supply voltage you plan to share. If both of your devices already sit on the same power and ground, a simple parallel wire run may be enough, and this board may not be needed.
